Rational Tuning of Hygroscopic Oscillation of Stacked Nanoflake Assemblies for Continuous Ambient Energy Harvesting

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Stacked nanoflake assembly (SNA) membranes can oscillate autonomously, offering opportunities for soft actuation and energy harvesting. This work uncovers the physical mechanism behind the sustained oscillation of SNA membranes in gradient humidity and identifies three governing dimensionless parameters, enabling rational design for optimizing SNA ...

Economic Low‐Carbon Chemical Production via Paired Electrolysis of Carbon Monoxide (CO) and 5‐hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF)

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Replacing CO2 with CO at the cathode and integrating a catholyte‐layer membrane electrode assembly transforms paired electrolysis into a stable platform for co‐producing ethylene and 2,5‐furandicarboxylic acid. Combined experimental and techno‐economic analyses identify carbon monoxide and 5‐hydroxymethylfurfural as the most compatible pairing ...

Exploring the Potential of Zero‐Dimensional Carbon Nanomaterials in Photoluminescent, Electrochemiluminescent and Electrochemical Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Zero‐dimensional carbon nanomaterials are presented as multifunctional platforms linking structure, property, and sensing performance. Surface engineering and heteroatom doping modulate electron‐transfer and luminescent behavior, enabling electrochemical, photoluminescent, and electrochemiluminescent detection. Fundamental design principles, analytical

Bonding of Acrylic Pressure‐Sensitive Adhesives and Silicone Elastomers via Surfactant‐Assisted Plasma Activation for Soft Robotics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
A simple strategy is presented for bonding acrylic PSAs and silicone elastomers by curing surfactant‐doped Ecoflex on oxygen‐plasma‐treated VHB. The interface reaches a maximum strength of 1.6 N/mm (over 20 times that of the control) while retaining material compliance.
