The Temperature Coefficient of the Refractive Index of Water*
Journal of the Optical Society of America, 1948A Jamin interferometer was used to measure the thermal coefficient of the refractive index of water for sodium light (λ=5893A) from −5°C to +25°C. From this was calculated the index-temperature curve over the same range. The results agree with those found by the Bureau of Standards for water within the experimental error, which is between 1×10−6 and 2 ...

Stochastic water quality index
Environmental Technology Letters, 1982Abstract A Stochastic Water Quality Index (SWQI) is proposed and its use in assessing water quality in the Linggi River in Malaysia is shown. The SWQI provides for the first time an approach for developing an index which incorporates the probabilistic water quality entities.

Water Quality Index and Status
2011This chapter includes a methodology for determining the water quality status of a river. The water quality of the Yamuna River is described using indirect and direct methods. The indirect method is based on various water quality indices (WQI), whereas the direct method uses water quality data at various locations on the river.

The index for plant water requirement
Agricultural Meteorology, 1969Abstract The frequency distribution model of the monthly and the bi-weekly R index, the ratio of actual evapotranspiration to potential evapotranspiration, is discussed and compared with the Beta distribution. The goodness of fit of the Beta distribution to the R index frequency distribution was tested using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov method ...

This layer presents the Water Poverty Index (WPI) in 141 countries around the world. The WPI is a water management tool that expresses an interdisciplinary measure which links household welfare with water availability and indicates the degree to which water scarcity impacts on human populations.
