Stabilization of Water Mists [PDF]
THE stability of a water mist formed in an atmosphere that is not fully saturated is severely affected by droplet evaporation. Thus a water-drop 10µ. in radius suspended in air at 20° C. and 80 per cent relative humidity can be shown to have a life of only 2.4 sec.

Effect of quantity in oil-water combined mist in high speed milling of Ti-6Al-4V
In this study, Ti-6Al-4V alloy was machined at high cutting speed of 200 m/min, and the tool wear progress and the cutting mechanics were experimentally investigated in order to clarify an effective cooling method.

Attenuation of Infrared Radiation When Passing Through a Water Curtain [PDF]
This article focuses on the interaction of infrared (IR) radiation with water droplets. The main objective of the article is the production of water mist in order of evaluation the reduction in intensity of IR radiation. In the experiments described in

Odonata Collected with a Mist Net in Baraga County, Michigan, including a New Record for the Upper Peninsula [PDF]
Excerpt: In the summer of 1966, a study of the interrelation of birds and forest insects was initiated at Michigan Technological University. Japanese mist nets were used, among other methods, to make population estimates of birds.

Experimental evaluation of the effectiveness of water mist automated fire extinguishing systems for oil transportation [PDF]
Experimental investigation of regularities of carryover of water mist droplets (radius of 50 - 500 [mu]m) by high temperature (500 - 1800 K) products of combustion of typical petroleum products (oil, gasoline, kerosene, etc.) was carried out.

Role of acoustic wave on extinguishing flames coupling with water mist
Water mist plays an indispensable role in various fire extinguishing scenarios, but its efficiency is restricted by the interaction area of droplets and the flame. With the characteristics of simple operation and limited environmental pollution, acoustic

System and climate related pythium problems in mobile chrysanthemum growing systems [PDF]
One Dutch greenhouse company started to grow chrysanthemums in a mobile system. The system’s basic unit is a sub-irrigated V-shaped gully of 8.0 m long and 5 cm wide, filled with a peat-coir mix.
