Institutional arrangements and practices in rural drinking water supply of Bhutan [Study on the relations between institutional arrangements and water shortage]

open access: yes, 2021
The water-rich Bhutan is increasingly confronted with growing reports of drinking water shortages, especially in rural communities. The envisioned national policies and successive five-year plans to provide safe and reliable drinking water supply have ...

Physics‐Constrained Constitutive Learning of Rate‐Limiting Timescales for Efficient Hydrogen‐Based Direct Reduction for Green Steel Making

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A conversion‐resolved constitutive framework is developed for the hydrogen‐based direct reduction of iron oxide pellets. Effective reaction and transport timescales are inferred directly from measured trajectories and mapped against operating conditions, pellet architecture, and composition. The analysis reveals how late‐stage transport control emerges

Water Related Otitis Externa

open access: yesCollegium antropologicum, 2013
Water influences skin inflammation of the external auditory canal. The common term for this illness is "swimmer's ear". Contributory factors are length of exposure to water, type of water and water pollution. The aim of the study was to compare risks for contracting the disease between patients with different exposure to swimming pool water.

Hierarchical Ordering Induced Ultrahigh Cryogenic Strength and Strain Hardening in a Ni2CoFeV Medium‐Entropy Alloy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A tri‐phase Ni2CoFeV medium‐entropy alloy with fcc, κ, and L12 phases achieves exceptional cryogenic strength‐ductility synergy at 77 K. It delivers a yield strength of 1.4 GPa, an ultimate tensile strength of 2.07 GPa and a tensile ductility of 28%.

Lewis‐Acid Engineering with Neodymium Promoters as Synergistic Nd‐Ni Dual Sites for Enhanced Urea Oxidation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The integration of rare‐metal neodymium centers to engineer Lewis acid sites with nickel centers is proposed as highly efficient UOR catalysts. ABSTRACT The sluggish kinetics of the urea oxidation reaction (UOR) are strongly associated with the high energy barriers required for the C‐N cleavage and N‐N coupling steps.

Automated Extraction of Multicomponent Alloy Data Using Large Language Models for Sustainable Design

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A large language model (LLM) based pipeline is developed to automatically extract a comprehensive and accurate multicomponent alloy database from literature corpus. The extracted dataset is integrated with sustainability indicators to identify potential alloys that outperform existing industrial benchmark materials in terms of both performance and ...
