An Improved Slime Mould Algorithm for Demand Estimation of Urban Water Resources

open access: yes, 2021
A slime mould algorithm (SMA) is a new meta-heuristic algorithm, which can be widely used in practical engineering problems. In this paper, an improved slime mould algorithm (ESMA) is proposed to estimate the water demand of Nanchang City.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Is there progress in the adsorbent development for water treatment?

open access: yesiScience
Summary: Adsorption technology is an essential part of modern water treatment. However, only a handful of adsorbent materials are used industrially, which is in striking contrast with the exponentially increasing scientific publishing activity.
