Coupling equations for water saturated and partially saturated geomaterials

Revue Française de Génie Civil, 2002
A mathematical model for a saturated and partially saturated non-isothermal porous medium is presented. The porous material is treated as a multiphase continuum with the pores of the solid skeleton filled by water and gas, which may be either vapour alone or a mixture of dry air and vapour.

Poroelastic behaviour of a water-saturated limestone

International Journal of Rock Mechanics and Mining Sciences, 2010
Abstract This paper presents the results of an experimental study carried out on a porous, water-saturated limestone. First, a set of poroelastic parameters is obtained from a wide range of experiments (drained, undrained, pore pressure loading and unjacketed tests) conducted on the same sample at the same stress state.

Water Fingering Into an Oil-Wet Porous Medium Saturated with Oil At Connate Water Saturation

Revue de l'Institut Français du Pétrole, 1984
The effect that connate water has on fingers of water penetrating into an oil-wet porous medium is examined. In this context, the connate water appears to have no influence on the width of fingers, but instead causes the fingers to be more irregular than fingers in similar experiments without connate water.

Measurement of NO Concentration in Water Saturated Nitrogen

Applied Optics, 1972
The equivalent Raman scattering cross section of NO (nitric oxide) referred to O(2) (oxygen) and N(2) (nitrogen) was obtained experimentally. Furthermore, it is shown that it is possible, using the Raman effect, not only to detect small concentrations of nitric oxide in water saturated nitrogen but also to obtain quantitative measurements of NO ...
