Water vapor sorption of hyaluronic acid

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - General Subjects, 1970
Abstract Water vapor sorption isotherms were obtained for three samples of hyaluronic acid. Reproducible isotherms were obtained for all sodium and potassium hyaluronates while the acid form of one hyaluronic acid sample exhibited increased sorptive capacity for three successive sorption isotherms. The values of Brunauer-Emmett-Teller, hysteresis and

Measurement of water sorption in dental composites

Biomaterials, 1998
This study measures the changes in dimension and weight resulting from water sorption in light-cured resin-based materials using an innovative computer-controlled laser micrometer and a precision digital balance. Three materials are examined in this study: a micro-filled composite, a dual-cure luting composite and a compomer.

Sorption and Degradation of Imidacloprid in Soil and Water

Journal of Environmental Science and Health, Part B: Pesticides, Food Contaminants, and Agricultural Wastes, 2006
Imidacloprid, the major component of many widely used insecticide formulations, is highly persistent in soils. In this study, the sorption of imidacloprid by six soils as well as its photodegradation and hydrolysis in water were studied. The soils differed significantly in organic matter content and other physical and chemical properties.

Influence of fillers on the water sorption of composites

Dental Materials, 1989
The main objectives of this work were to characterize the water sorption of dental composites in terms of water uptake, diffusion coefficients (D), and polymer content, and to study how these parameters are influenced by the nature of the filler and the presence of 4-META (4-methacryloxy ethyl trimellitic anhydride).

[Sorption of water on biopolymers].

Biofizika, 1975
NMR-spin echo and dielectric studies of water in biopolymers have been carried out. According to the data on the relationship between the time of spin-spin relaxation, the energy of movement activation and electroconductivity, and moisture-bearing it can be concluded that water sorption on biopolymers of the type of gelatin, starch, cellulose up to a ...

Water Sorption Thermodynamics in Polymer Matrices

2013
Water sorption is a key issue in assessing the durability of polymer matrix composites. In fact absorbed water can adversely affect mechanical properties of the matrix and fibre-matrix interface integrity. In this contribution the general issue of water sorption thermodynamics in polymers is addressed from the experimental and theoretical point of view.

Water sorption of several bonding resins.

American journal of dentistry, 2000
Purposes: To determine, over the period of 1 month, (a) the degree of water sorption, and (b) the change in dimension, of four bonding resins and one low viscosity resin. Materials and Methods: Six specimens of bonding resin (Prisma Universal Bond 3, All-Bond 2, Bondwell LC, and LB Bond from the Clearfil Liner Bond II system) and a low viscosity resin (
