Water Sorption by Carbon Fibers

Protection of Metals and Physical Chemistry of Surfaces, 2020
The degree of crystallinity of carbon fibers (CFs) of different manufacturers has been determined by means of the Raman scattering method. A gradient “core–shell” model for the CF structure has been suggested. The element composition of CFs has been determined by means of the X-ray electron probe analysis.

Water sorption on coals

Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2010
Water vapor adsorption/desorption isotherm studies were performed on high volatile bituminous B coal and lignite to investigate the behavior of water on coal. The characterization of water sorption was studied by kinetic and equilibrium data, at a temperature of 298 K and a relative vapor pressure up to 0.95.

Water sorption measured by sorption calorimetry

Thermochimica Acta, 1995
A calorimetric method is described for the determination of adsorption and desorption of adsorptives that are liquid at room temperature, focussing on the sorption of water. Together with the isotherms, the sorption thermodynamics is determined in one experiment by determining the heat flow needed for generating the vapour and the heat flow generated ...

Nonequilibrium Sorption of Water in Polylactide

Macromolecules, 2012
The sorption of water in polylactide (PLA) was measured at various vapor activities (0–0.85) and temperatures using a number of experimental techniques, including quartz spring microbalance (QSM), quartz crystal microbalance (QCM), and in situ time-resolved Fourier transform infrared-attenuated total reflectance (FTIR-ATR) spectroscopy. Additionally, a

Water vapor sorption of keratan sulfate

Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry, 1975
Keratan sulfate was isolated from bovine cornea. The water vapor sorption isotherms were obtained on both sodium and calcium salts of keratan sulfate at different temperatures. Deuterated water sorption isotherms were obtained on sodium keratan sulfates.
