Peripheral lysosomes recruit PLEKHG3 to focal adhesions and restrain protrusion dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Proximity‐dependent labeling at the LAMTOR complex revealed the Rho GEF PLEKHG3 as a lysosome‐proximal protein directing the study toward the influence of lysosome positioning on actin dynamics and cell motility. We show that PLEKHG3 colocalizes with lysosomes at focal adhesion sites and observe that forced peripheral dispersion of lysosomes hinders ...

Estimation of River Water Surface Elevation Using UAV Photogrammetry and Machine Learning

open access: yesCoRR, 2023
Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) photogrammetry allows for the creation of orthophotos and digital surface models (DSMs) of a terrain. However, DSMs of water bodies mapped with this technique reveal water surface distortions, preventing the use of photogrammetric data for accurate determination of water surface elevation (WSE).

The Potential for Leveraging SWOT‐Mapped Uneven Water Surface Elevations to Enhance ICESat‐2–Derived Lake Levels

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters
Satellite altimetry is advantageous for measuring water surface elevations (WSE) globally. However, biases of time series can be caused by uneven water surfaces, as nadir pointing measurements are often collected at different locations across a lake ...

Experimental investigation on plume enlargement and fountain effect due to gas blowout in seawater

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2019
The present paper focuses on experimental tests performed in an experimental outdoor basin with three gases (air, CO2 and methane) in order to characterize the consequences of underwater gas release. Water elevation (fountain effect) and surface velocity

Approximate solutions to shallow water wave equations by the homotopy perturbation method coupled with Mohand transform

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics, 2023
In this paper, the Mohand transform-based homotopy perturbation method is proposed to solve two-dimensional linear and non-linear shallow water wave equations.

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Deep visual domain adaptation and semi-supervised segmentation for understanding wave elevation using wave flume video images

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
Accurate water surface elevation estimation is essential for understanding nearshore processes, but it is still challenging due to limitations in measuring water level using in-situ acoustic sensors.

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Development of a GNSS Buoy for Monitoring Water Surface Elevations in Estuaries and Coastal Areas [PDF]

open access: yesSensors, 2017
In this work, a Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) buoy that utilizes a Virtual Base Station (VBS) combined with the Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) positioning technology was developed to monitor water surface elevations in estuaries and coastal areas.
