Surface reverberation based on small-slope approximation in deep water [PDF]

open access: yesActa Physica Sinica, 2021
For the reverberation experiments with a near surface source or receiver, surface reverberation arriving first after source signal is not influenced by bottom reverberation due to time-delay difference of acoustic multipath in deep water. A surface reverberation model is proposed in the paper.

EFFECT OF SURFACE IRRIGATION METHODS AND LAND LEVELING PRACTICES ON COTTON YIELD AND IRRIGATION PERFORMANCES AT NORTH DELTA [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Soil Sciences and Agricultural Engineering, 2007
Two field trials were conducted at Sakha Agricultural Research Station during the two successive growing seasons 2004 and 2005 to study the impact of three methods of surface irrigation which are: 1 Short furrows, 2- Long furrows and 3- border irrigation,

Numerical Analysis of Instability Mechanism of a High Slope under Excavation Unloading and Rainfall

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
High slope simulation analysis is an essential means of slope engineering design, construction, and operation management. It is necessary to master slope dynamics, ensure slope safety, analyze slope instability mechanisms, and carry out slope stability ...

Hydraulic river models from ICESat-2 elevation and water surface slope

open access: yesWater Resources Research, 2023
Forecasting flood and drought events requires accurate modeling tools. Hydraulic river models are based on estimates of riverbed geometry which are traditionally collected in-situ. The novel Ice, Cloud and Land Elevation Satellite 2 [ICESat-2] lidar altimetry mission with 6 simultaneous high-resolution laser beams provides the opportunity to define ...

Three-Dimensional Stability of Unsaturated Excavation Slopes Under Different Seepage Conditions: A Case Study

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science, 2022
Three-dimensional stability analysis of soil slopes remains a hot topic in the field of geotechnical engineering. Considering the fluid–solid coupling effect, this study performs a number of numerical analyses on the stability of a 3D excavation slope ...

Contours of slopes of a rippled water surface

open access: yesOptics Express, 2011
The appearance of a horizontal array of linear lamps below the water surface when viewed from above is approximately in the form of contours of one component of the water surface slope. The degree of approximation is a fraction of one percent when this method is used to describe the slopes of a wind ruffled surface.

On alpha stable distribution of wind driven water surface wave slope [PDF]

open access: yesChaos: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Nonlinear Science, 2008
We propose a new formulation of the probability distribution function of wind driven water surface slope with an α-stable distribution probability. The mathematical formulation of the probability distribution function is given under an integral formulation.

Rainfall infiltration process of multi-layer slope based on improved Green-Ampt model stability analysis

open access: yesShuiwen dizhi gongcheng dizhi, 2022
Under the effect of rainfall, the saturation and water content of slope soil increase, while the matric suction decreases. With the increasing rainfall duration, rainwater infiltration depth has an effect on slope stability.

Wind-forced depth-dependent currents over the eastern Beaufort Sea continental slope: Implications for Pacific water transport

open access: yesElementa: Science of the Anthropocene, 2018
Pacific water contributes significantly to the Arctic Ocean freshwater budget. Recent increases in Arctic freshwater flux, also affected by the Pacific-derived Arctic water, impact the Atlantic overturning circulation with implications for global climate.
