Security of Water Infrastructure Systems
2009This paper formulates the security problem in critical water infrastructure systems for diagnosing quality faults. The proposed scheme is based on the discretized equations of advection and reaction of contaminant concentrations in pipes and tanks, expressed in a state-space form.

System analysis of total water systems for water minimization
Chemical Engineering Journal, 2012System-wide analysis of water systems to minimize water use in process industries has been carried out when charges for effluents from the process are simultaneously considered with cost of freshwater intake and in-house water treatment in the design of water and effluent systems.

Water and Water Systems in Hospitals
2019Drinking water is generally clean enough for use by healthy people in most countries. However, breakage of sewage pipes into drinking water may happen, or the actual drinking water source may be heavily contaminated by accidents. Floods and natural disasters cause global problems with regard to drinking water; with outbreaks of cholera, other bacteria ...

Water Dynamics in the Clay-Water System
1985Abstract Water dynamics was studied in three smectites—hectorite, montmorillonite (bentonite), and vermiculite having water contents of 0.5, 1, and 2 water layers, respectively—by quasielastic neutron scattering. The study began with the lowest stable hydration state, i.e., the hydration shell of the exchangeable cation.
