Microstructure Evolution of a VMnFeCoNi High‐Entropy Alloy After Synthesis, Swaging, and Annealing
The synthesis and processing (rotary swaging and annealing) of the novel VMnFeCoNi alloy is investigated, alongside the estimation of the grain size effect on hardness. Analysis of a wide grain size range of recrystallized microstructures (12–210 µm) reveals a low annealing twin density.

Pervaporative transport of water across ionic membranes for desalination
Prasad, Ajay K.Water scarcity is one of the major challenges facing mankind that motivates the search for more effective methods to produce pure water. Seawater desalination is a common method for obtaining pure water.

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Meridional Water Vapor Transport in Tropical and Sub-Tropical Regions
Airborne differential absorption lidar (DIAL) measurements of tropospheric water vapor and aerosol from south Europe to Brazil in mid-March 2004 are presented and compared to operational analyses of the Euro-pean Center for Medium Range Weather Forecast (

Representation of tropical deep convection in atmospheric models - Part 1 : Meteorology and comparison with satellite observations [PDF]
Fast convective transport in the tropics can efficiently redistribute water vapour and pollutants up to the upper troposphere. In this study we compare tropical convection characteristics for the year 2005 in a range of atmospheric models, including ...

Water transport through monolayer fullerene membrane
Water transport through nanoporous materials is important in water treatment, desalination, and nanofiltration. Two-dimensional (2D) membranes such as porous graphene have been explored for high-permeance water transport. However, water transport through

Airborne lidar observations of water vapour variability and transport
Water vapour, a minor constituent of the earth’s atmosphere, plays a major role in the radiation budget and the water cycle with important implications for weather and climate. Due to the heterogeneous distribution of its sources, evaporation, and sinks,
