Effect of temperature on water vapor transport properties
Journal of Building Physics, 2014The temperature effect on water vapor transport properties of calcium silicate is studied, together with the influence of sample thickness. For material characterization purposes, the bulk density, matrix density, and total open porosity are measured at first.

Water Vapor Transport in Hydrophilic Polyurethanes
1974Water uptake and water vapor transmission rates have been obtained on two series of hydrophilic segmented polyurethanes based on MDI, butanediol, and several block copolymer polyethers with varying proportions of poly(ethylene oxide) PEO and poly(propyleneoxide) PPO. In series I the ratio of PEO to PPO is varied at fixed hard segment concentration.

Osmotically Driven Water Vapor Transport in Unsaturated Soils
Soil Science Society of America Journal, 2001Knowledge of the transport processes of bulk fertilizers and other solutes in soils and porous media is vital to understanding the environmental and economic impacts of many agricultural and waste disposal practices. Previous experimental research shows that significant water movement can occur towards regions of high salt concentrations in unsaturated

Water vapor and CO2 transport through amine-containing facilitated transport membranes
Reactive and Functional Polymers, 2015Abstract Amine-containing CO 2 facilitated transport membranes have great potential to be applied for hydrogen purification from synthesis gas. In some applications, the humidity of the retentate stream is required as well as the purity of hydrogen.

Water vapor transport in a series of polyarylates
Journal of Membrane Science, 2001Abstract Water vapor sorption and transport properties are presented for a series of polyarylates. The effect of making various structural changes in the polymer backbone has been studied, by comparing the transport properties to those of the base polymer bisphenol A isophthalate.

Water Vapor Transport Through Protective Textiles at Low Temperatures
Textile Research Journal, 2002This article surveys the physiological impact of waterproof textiles on the wearers of protective clothing. Wearer trials with test subjects in a climatic chamber involve ambient temperatures of +20. 0, and -20°C. The physiological function of breathable materials in comparison to a water vapor impermeable construction is quantified. Results show that

Gas, Vapor and Water Transport in Polymer Films
1973There has been a huge upsurge of interest in recent years in the transport of gases and vapors through polymer films. More than two hundred papers have been published in this general area in the past five years most of which were concerned, at least in part, with fundamental aspects of the problem.

Monthly Weather Review, 1987
Abstract Water vapor transport over the Indian Ocean during the 1979 summer monsoon is studied. The analysis is based on wind fields from the European Centre for Medium Range Weather Forecasts and humidity fields derived from a three-layer precipitable water dataset. Fields of zonal and meridional water vapor fluxes show significant variations over the

Transport of Water Vapor by Tenebrionid Beetles. I. Kinetics
Physiological Zoology, 1979Larvae of two species of tenebrionid beetles from the Namib Desert are capable of absorbing water vapor from subsaturated air. Absorption does not take place during ecdysis but begins 2 days following ecdysis. Absorption is dependent on relative humidity and not vapor pressure deficit.
