Genetic and Ecological Management of Pacific Salmon Fisheries for the 21st Century
ABSTRACT Based on ecological adaptation theory, tremendous effort is being spent on measures that are eliminating salmon hatcheries and fishing opportunities with the intention of protecting wild runs deemed to be of particular genetic importance to the survival of the species.

Geographic distribution of seed dispersal studies by disperser guild. Summary Seed dispersal is critical for long‐term ecosystem resilience. However, excessive compartmentalisation of research into particular disperser guilds (e.g. birds) hampers our understanding of their relative contributions to overall seed dispersal, risking erroneous conclusions ...

ABSTRACT Introduction Highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) H5N1, clade 2.3.4.4b is a global threat causing widespread outbreaks on poultry farms and high mortality among wild bird populations in Canada. Wild aquatic birds are generally recognised as key reservoir hosts for avian influenza viruses (AIV's).

Patterns of waterbird community composition across a natural and restored wetland landscape mosaic, Yellow River Delta, China [PDF]
Habitat restoration can help mitigate the extensive loss and degradation of estuarine and coastal wetlands that have consequently eroded the integrity of many migratory flyways and wintering habitat for waterbird populations.

1992-1995 waterbird and raptor records for Cabell Marsh, William L. Finley National Wildlife Refuge, Benton County, Oregon [PDF]
I conducted 14-22 waterbird and raptor censuses each year from 1992-1995 during late April or early May through October. I observed 44 waterbird and 13 raptor species, including hatch year individuals of seven waterbird species.
