Fully coupled, high-resolution atmosphere–ocean–wave simulations of the offshore wind energy environment during Hurricane Henri (2021) [PDF]
A new fully coupled modeling system, integrating atmosphere, ocean, and wave models, is presented to simulate intricate interactions during tropical cyclones and explore their potential implications for offshore infrastructure. The system is evaluated on

Karl Popper and the Mechanisms of Hydrogen Embrittlement
Representation of the beginning of loss of ductility rather than embrittlement. Small concentrations of hydrogen in a diffusible form within iron are well‐established to harm the mechanical integrity of steels. There are theories that attempt to explain the pernicious role of hydrogen.

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Importance of nonlinear wave representation for nonlinear Froude-Krylov force calculations for wave energy devices [PDF]
Due to their computational convenience, mathematical models for wave energy converters are usually linear. Including nonlinearities may improve the accuracy of the results, but often at the price of an additional computational and complexity burden ...

Rational solitons of wave resonant-interaction models [PDF]
Integrable models of resonant interaction of two or more waves in 1+1 dimensions are known to be of applicative interest in several areas. Here we consider a system of three coupled wave equations which includes as special cases the vector nonlinear ...

Scandium (Sc)‐doped AlCoCrFeMo HEA coatings are fabricated via flame spraying with 0.1, 0.3, and 0.5 wt% Sc additions. Among these, the HEA‐Sc0.3 coating exhibits the highest corrosion resistance, indicated by a more positive corrosion potential and lower current density.

Quantum Interactions as Niche-Structure [PDF]
In the field of systems biology, the molecular interactions constituting the life of organisms may be represented in interaction maps. The genetic interaction map is unique because it concerns only the interactions of an organism, occupying its niche ...
