On coherence lengths of wave packets [PDF]
Coherence lengths of one particle states described by quantum wave functions are studied. We show that one particle states in various situations are not described by simple plane waves but are described by wave packets that are superpositions of plane ...

We use a recently constructed linearized soliton sector perturbation theory to calculate the form factors relevant to the elastic scattering of ultrarelativistic mesons off of nonrelativistic kinks.

Scattering of accelerated wave packets [PDF]
Wave-packet scattering from a stationary potential is significantly modified when the wave-packet is subject to an external time-dependent force during the interaction.

Quantum Mechanical and Optical Analogies in Surface Gravity Water Waves
We present the theoretical models and review the most recent results of a class of experiments in the field of surface gravity waves. These experiments serve as demonstration of an analogy to a broad variety of phenomena in optics and quantum mechanics ...

We study the influence of real structure of electromagnetic ion-cyclotron wave packets in the Earth’s radiation belts on precipitation of relativistic electrons. Automatic algorithm is used to distinguish isolated elements (wave packets) and obtain their

The relation between the energy-dependent particle and wave descriptions of electron–matter interactions on the nanoscale was analyzed by measuring the delocalization of an evanescent field from energy-filtered amplitude images of sample/vacuum ...

Self-Interfering Wave Packets [PDF]
We study the propagation of non-interacting polariton wavepackets. We show how two qualitatively different concepts of mass that arise from the peculiar polariton dispersion lead to a new type of particle-like object from non-interacting fields---much like self-accelerating beams---shaped by the Rabi coupling out of Gaussian initial states.

The first GPS-TEC imaging of the space structure of MS wave packets excited by the solar terminator [PDF]
Using TEC measurements from the dense network of GPS sites GEONET, we have obtained the first GPS-TEC image of the space structure of medium-scale traveling wave packets (MS TWP) excited by the morning solar terminator (ST). We found that ST-generated

Formation of bright solitons from wave packets with repulsive nonlinearity
Formation of bright envelope solitons from wave packets with a repulsive nonlinearity was observed for the first time. The experiments used surface spin-wave packets in magnetic yttrium iron garnet thin film strips.

The nonlinear effects on the characteristics of gravity wave packets: dispersion and polarization relations [PDF]
By analyzing the results of the numerical simulations of nonlinear propagation of three Gaussian gravity-wave packets in isothermal atmosphere individually, the nonlinear effects on the characteristics of gravity waves are studied quantitatively.
