Scattering wave packets of hadrons in gauge theories: Preparation on a quantum computer [PDF]

open access: yesQuantum
Quantum simulation holds promise of enabling a complete description of high-energy scattering processes rooted in gauge theories of the Standard Model. A first step in such simulations is preparation of interacting hadronic wave packets.

Frequencies of wave packets of whistler-mode chorus inside its source region: a case study [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales Geophysicae, 2008
Whistler-mode chorus is a structured wave emission observed in the Earth's magnetosphere in a frequency range from a few hundreds of Hz to several kHz.

Anomalous Spreading of Power-Law Quantum Wave Packets

open access: yes, 1999
We introduce power-law tail quantum wave packets. We show that they can be seen as eigenfunctions of a Hamiltonian with a physical potential. We prove that the free evolution of these packets presents an asymptotic decay of the maximum of the wave ...

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Statistical Analysis of Langmuir Waves Associated with Type III Radio Bursts: II. Simulation and Interpretation of the Wave Energy Distributions

open access: yesOpen Astronomy, 2011
We have modeled electrostatic Langmuir waves by an electric field, consisting of superposition of Gaussian wave packets with several probability distributions of amplitudes and with several Poisson distributions of wave packets.

Localized Airy Wave Packets in a Self-Defocusing Kerr Medium

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2018
Families of vortex-like and Gaussian-like localized Airy wave packets, propagating in a self-defocusing Kerr medium, are discovered. Their propagation is described by the cylindrical Korteweg–de Vries (CKdV) equation, reduced from the nonlinear ...

Magnetic Helicity Conservation and Inverse Energy Cascade in Electron Magnetohydrodynamic Wave Packets

open access: yes, 2011
Electron magnetohydrodynamics (EMHD) provides a fluid-like description of small-scale magnetized plasmas. An EMHD wave (also known as whistler wave) propagates along magnetic field lines.

dUTPase is essential in zebrafish development and possesses several single‐nucleotide variants with pronounced structural and functional consequences

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
dUTPases are involved in balancing the appropriate nucleotide pools. We showed that dUTPase is essential for normal development in zebrafish. The different zebrafish genomes contain several single‐nucleotide variations (SNPs) of the dut gene. One of the dUTPase variants displayed drastically lower protein stability and catalytic efficiency as compared ...

Vlasov simulation of Langmuir wave packets [PDF]

open access: yesNonlinear Processes in Geophysics, 2007
Amplitude modulation and packet formation of Langmuir waves are commonly observed during a nonlinear interaction between electron beams and plasmas. In this paper, we briefly review the history of Langmuir wave packets as developed by recent spacecraft ...

Quantum watch and its intrinsic proof of accuracy

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2022
We have investigated the rich dynamics of complex wave packets composed of multiple high-lying Rydberg states in He. A quantitative agreement is found between theory and time-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy experiments.
