Dynamical axions and gravitational waves [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2019
Abstract In this paper we explore the possibility of observable gravitational waves as a manifestation of the QCD axion dynamics. In particular, we focus on dynamical axion models which solve the strong CP problem, and include the confinement of a QCD-like gauge group at the TeV scale.

Aquaporin‐4 in Narcolepsy Type 1: Investigation of Perivascular Fluid Movement in Sleep Disorders

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Narcolepsy type 1 (NT1) is caused by the loss of hypocretin‐1 leading to excessive daytime sleepiness and cataplexy. Additionally, disrupted nighttime sleep has become an increasingly recognized feature of NT1. As the glymphatic fluid movement has been linked to sleep architecture, we investigated cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) Aquaporin‐4 (AQP4 ...

Time multiplexed single node reservoir computing enabled by transient photon magnon coupling

open access: yesnpj Spintronics
We present a reservoir computing system that utilizes the transient dynamics of photon-magnon coupling (PMC) for high-accuracy temporal data processing, specifically spoken-digit recognition, while minimizing hardware resources.

Hydrodynamic Modeling Analysis to Support Nearshore Restoration Projects in a Changing Climate

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering, 2014
To re-establish the intertidal wetlands with full tidal exchange and improve salmonid rearing habitat in the Skagit River estuary, State of Washington, USA, a diked agriculture farm land along the Skagit Bay front is proposed to be restored to a fully ...

Travelling Waves in Plankton Dynamics [PDF]

open access: yesMathematical Modelling of Natural Phenomena, 2013
A recently proposed model for the investigation of diffusivity in planktonic systems containing toxin-producing phytoplanktons is here reconsidered. We show the existence of planktonic travelling waves. Numerical simulations validate the analytical findings, to elucidate the sensitivity of the results in dependence of the diffusion coefficients.

Anti‐CD19 CAR T Cells in Autoimmune Encephalitis: Inflammation Controlled, Neurodegeneration Unchecked?

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Just recently, successful chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell therapy was reported in the first patient with refractory, anti‐diacylglycerol lipase alpha (DAGLA) antibody‐mediated autoimmune encephalitis, achieving partial clinical remission.

From trochoidal symmetry to chaotic vortex-core reversal in magnetic nanostructures

open access: yesnpj Spintronics
The deterministic and stochastic control of nonlinear dynamics in magnetic solitons is crucial for future information processing technologies. Yet, the transition to chaos in such systems remains largely unexplored.

Wave Packet Dynamics, Ergodicity, and Localization in Quasiperiodic Chains

open access: yes, 2009
In this paper, we report results for the wave packet dynamics in a class of quasiperiodic chains consisting of two types of weakly coupled clusters. The dynamics are studied by means of the return probability and the mean square displacement.

Artificial Intelligence in Systemic Sclerosis: Clinical Applications, Challenges, and Future Directions

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Systemic sclerosis (SSc) is a rare autoimmune disease defined by immune dysregulation, vasculopathy, and progressive fibrosis of the skin and internal organs. Despite advances in care, major complications such as interstitial lung disease (ILD) and myocardial involvement remain the leading causes of morbidity and mortality.
