Preliminary Verification and Validation of WEC-Sim, an Open-Source Wave Energy Converter Design Tool [PDF]
To promote and support the wave energy industry, a wave energy converter (WEC) design tool, WEC-Sim, is being developed by Sandia National Laboratories and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. In this paper, the WEC-Sim code is used to model a point absorber WEC designed by the U.S. Department of Energy’s reference model project.

In the English Channel, the main environmental variables were SPM, POM, PIM, NO2−/NO3+ and salinity in spring and salinity, SPM, Si and Chl‐a in summer. Most of the spring communities had a higher proportion of Bacteroidetes and Proteobacteria, while most of the summer communities had a higher proportion of Proteobacteria, Bacteroidetes, Actinobacteria,

Analysis and design of an oscillating water column wave energy converter with dielectric elastomer power take-off [PDF]
In this paper, we present a concept of near/off-shore Oscillating Water Column (OWC) Wave Energy Converter (WEC) that is equipped with a Power Take Off (PTO) unit based on Dielectric Elastomer Generators (DEGs).

Multiple model predictive control for offshore wind turbines operating in the full‐load range
Abstract This paper presents a multiple model predictive control (MMPC) strategy based on an individual blade pitch (IBP) mechanism to control floating offshore wind turbines (FOWTs) when operating in the full‐load range (above the rated wind speed).

Proposed improvements in wave energy converter of oscillating water column (WEC-OWC)
The aim of this paper is to show some design improvements on converters oscillating water column (OWC) versus conventional OWC, focusing on a newly patented design, OWC with Differential Pressure Storage Tanks (DPST). In this research work, a short review of the principles of operation and the results obtained for each one in relation to energy ...
