Latest Tests of a Submillimeter-Wave Backward Wave Oscillator
2006 Joint 31st International Conference on Infrared Millimeter Waves and 14th International Conference on Teraherz Electronics, 2006A 600-700 GHz BWO is currently being rebuilt for testing. Previous tests identified problems with the cathode and materials used in the structure. These were addressed and the BWO is now being assembled for testing in July 2006. The modifications to the design are described and test results will be presented.

2006 IEEE International Vacuum Electronics Conference held Jointly with 2006 IEEE International Vacuum Electron Sources, 2006A 600-700 GHz backward wave oscillator is under development for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration for molecular spectroscopy. Previous tests identified problems with the cathode and magnetics circuit, which were corrected in the most recent version.
