Reflection and transmission coefficients for backward waves on a corrugated YIG film

Proceedings of the IEEE, 1980
The reflection and transmission coefficients for the backward magnetic waves on a YIG film with periodic surface corrugations are systematically deduced from the solution of the full magnetostatic boundary-value problem. The phenomenological boundary condition for the slowly varying amplitude in the coupled mode equations is also obtained.

Estimation of Wave Transmission Coefficients for Overtopping of Impermeable Breakwaters

2023
Methods are presented for estimating coefficients of wave transmission by overtopping for smooth and rough impermeable breakwaters. These techniques can be used for monochromatic or irregular wave conditions and for submerged breakwaters. Example problems are worked to illustrate calculations.

APPROXIMATIONS TO THE REFLECTION AND TRANSMISSION COEFFICIENTS OF PLANE LONGITUDINAL AND TRANSVERSE WAVES*

Geophysical Prospecting, 1961
AbstractThe reflection and transmission coefficients for vertical incidence can be very closely approximated by computing the direct‐reflected and the direct‐transmitted portion for transition layers, and letting the thickness approach zero. The same procedure can then be applied to the general case of oblique incidence, which yields approximate values

Plane-wave reflection and transmission coefficients for a transversely isotropic solid

Geophysics, 1992
Abstract Numerous investigators have studied the P-SV reflection and transmission coefficients of an isotropic solid (Zoeppritz, 1919; Nafe, 1957; Frasier, 1970; Young and Braile, 1976; Kind, 1976; Aki and Richards, 1980).

The frequency band-averaged wave transmission coefficient of a periodic structure

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1996
It is well known that an undamped periodic structure displays passbands and stop bands, which are frequency bands over which wave motion, respectively, can and cannot propagate. For narrow-band excitation the response of the structure will be minimized by a design which places the excitation band within a stop band.

Experimental Study on Wave Transmission Coefficient of Double Cylindrical Floating Breakwater in a Wave Basin

Journal of Advanced Research in Fluid Mechanics and Thermal Sciences
Floating breakwater is a better alternative than the conventional method. It is an effective coastal engineering unit used to protect coastal regions such as harbours and marinas from erosive waves. It has many other applications such as offshore renewable energy generation, infrastructure preservation, temporary structure, and provides a controlled ...
