Higher-Order Wavefront Aberrations in Retinitis Pigmentosa
Optometry and Vision Science, 2005The purpose of this study was to characterize higher-order wavefront aberrations associated with posterior subcapsular (PSC) cataracts in patients with retinitis pigmentosa (RP).Wavefront aberrations were measured by Shack-Hartmann (SH) aberrometry in eight patients with RP who had PSC cataracts, 10 patients with RP who had minimal or no PSC cataracts,

Wavefront aberrations in eyes with decentered ablations
Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, 2009To compare the refractive and functional outcomes and wavefront profiles in eyes with decentered ablations and eyes with well-centered ablations.Medical Research Foundation, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. This retrospective analysis comprised eyes with topographically diagnosed decentered ablations after laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK).

Estimating Visual Quality from Wavefront Aberration Measurements
Journal of Refractive Surgery, 2003ABSTRACT PURPOSE: Root mean square (RMS) wavefront error may not be the best metric for predicting a patient's visual function; other metrics should be considered. We describe the most important metrics of optical quality, which are being investigated to predict vision quality and visual performance.

Influence of eyelid position on wavefront aberrations
Ophthalmic and Physiological Optics, 2007AbstractPurpose: To investigate the influence of eyelid position on wavefront aberrations. Methods: In study 1, the right eyes of 43 non‐cyclopleged subjects were evaluated using the Complete Ophthalmic Analysis System (COAS) aberrometer. In study 2, the right eyes of the 23 cyclopleged subjects were evaluated using the Optical Pathway Difference Scan

Describing ocular aberrations with wavefront vergence maps
Clinical and Experimental Optometry, 2009A common optometric problem is to specify the eye's ocular aberrations in terms of Zernike coefficients and to reduce that specification to a prescription for the optimum sphero-cylindrical correcting lens. The typical approach is first to reconstruct wavefront phase errors from measurements of wavefront slopes obtained by a wavefront aberrometer. This

Sub-Wavelength Grating Induced Wavefront Aberrations: A Case Study
Frontiers in Optics, 2006The on-axis wavefront aberrations of a one-dimensional subwavelength-grating antireflection coating on an f/1.7 lens surface are shown to be small with noticeable contributions of defocus, astigmatism, and piston. The astigmatism is 0.02 wave, and the magnitude of the piston approaches one wave peak-to-valley.

Low wavefront aberration microcollimated laser diode
SPIE Proceedings, 1990A supercompact microcollimated laser diode (MCLD) was developed without attaching any other external collimating lens. The MCLD consists of 780-nm quantum well laser diode dice and a microcollimating lens in the smallest commercially available laser package.

Monochromatic Wavefront Aberrations in Myopia
Noninvasive Assessment of the Visual System, 1991While several investigators have quantified the eye's higher order aberrations using a variety of techniques, to our knowledge little or no work has been published on the influence of the magnitude of refractive error on the eye's higher order aberrations.
