Catastrophes in wavefront-coding spatial-domain design
Applied Optics, 2010Spatial-domain design for wavefront-coding systems frequently simplifies the defining oscillatory integral of the point spread function (PSF) by means of the stationary phase approximation (SPA). Although the SPA applies over much of the support of the PSF, it tends to break down at or near the regions of highest intensity.

Passive range measurement through wavefront coding
SPIE Proceedings, 2006Through the introduction of a simply designed phase mask at the pupil of a conventional imaging system, the range to objects in view can be precisely determined. The mask allows for roughly 50% light transmission, and is segmented to introduce a 1/4 wave phase shift into half of the transmitted light.

The design of wavefront coded imaging system
SPIE Proceedings, 2016Wavefront Coding is a new method to extend the depth of field, which combines optical design and signal processing together. By using optical design software ZEMAX ,we designed a practical wavefront coded imaging system based on a conventional Cooke triplet system .Unlike conventional optical system, the wavefront of this new system is modulated by a ...

Wavefront Coded Imaging Systems for MEMS Analysis
International Symposium for Testing and Failure Analysis, 2002Abstract A new imaging technique called Wavefront Coding allows real-time imaging of three-dimensional structures over a very large depth. Wavefront Coding systems combine aspheric optics and signal processing to achieve depth of fields ten or more times greater than that possible with traditional imaging systems.

Wavefront-coding technique for inexpensive and robust retinal imaging
Optics Letters, 2014We propose a hybrid optical-digital imaging system that can provide high-resolution retinal images without wavefront sensing or correction of the spatial and dynamic variations of eye aberrations. A methodology based on wavefront coding is implemented in a fundus camera in order to obtain a high-quality image of retinal detail.

Research of sampling interval in wavefront coded system
SPIE Proceedings, 2011Wave-front coded system is proposed to improve the depth of field and is proven effective. Although there are researches interested in modulation transfer function (MTF), the sampling interval is not specified. We start from the basic model of wave-front coded system and investigate the sampling interval of the optical transfer function (OTF). Then,

Athermalization of infrared optical system through wavefront coding
Optics Communications, 2019Abstract Owing to the thermal effect of optical components, it has been challenging for conventional infrared optical imaging system to work in a large temperature range. Wavefront coding technique has been shown to greatly increase tolerance to manufacturing inaccuracies and various defocus, particularly thermal defocus. In this paper, we develop an
