High-precision system for wavefront control

SPIE Proceedings, 2000
Wavefront control is a key issue for developing different systems including: lasers (for various applications: isotopic separation, femto second solid state lasers, micro lithography...), imaging through turbulent media, ophthalmology... For these purposes, we have developed an adaptive optics system that can achieve wavefront very high precision ...

Wavefront Reconstruction and Control Systems

1998
Abstract The control system is the vital link between the wave front sensor and the wavefront corrector in all adaptive optics systems. Its function is to convert the wavefront measurements made by the sensor into a set of commands that are applied to the wavefront corrector to satisfy a suitable performance criterion, such as minimizing

Graphene Metasurface for THz Wavefront Control

JSAP-OSA Joint Symposia 2014 Abstracts, 2014
Terahertz (THz) technology is now becoming more important with the potential applications in biochemical sensing, security detection, and high-speed communication. However, because of lack of active materials for THz wave, wave control, e.g. intensity and phase distribution, is still challenging.

Wavefront control by an optical-feedback interferometer

Optics Communications, 1989
Abstract An optical feedback interferometer with a liquid-crystalline space-time modulator has been proposed and experimentally investigated. The effective suppression of the wavefront aberration was observed experimentally.

Unified coronagraph and wavefront control design

SPIE Proceedings, 2011
Numerous coronagraph designs for high-contrast imaging in space have been proposed, differentiated by various performance metrics, such as throughput, inner working angle, bandwidth, ease of implementation (a surrogate for cost), sensitivity, and robustness.

Experiments On Wavefront Control Using Wavefront Sensing And Hill Climbing Techniques

SPIE Proceedings, 1989
A number of experiments have been made with two adaptive optical systems. A 19 element deformable mirror with serial hilt-climbing control system is used to correct static wavefront errors. A system with 21-element deformable mirror and real-time wavefront sensing with shearing interferometer is used to correct dynamic errors.

Phase-Diverse Wavefront Sensing and Control

Frontiers in Optics 2008/Laser Science XXIV/Plasmonics and Metamaterials/Optical Fabrication and Testing, 2008
Improved computational capabilities render phase-diverse wavefront sensing to be a viable choice for selected adaptive-optics applications. Phase diversity acquires informative data with simple optical hardware, works with low-contrast extended scenes, and accommodates wavefront discontinuities.
