Active Adjustment of the Subreflector Shape for the Large Dual-Reflector Antenna
A shape adjustment method for subreflectors based on minimizing the residual wavefront error of the large dual-reflector antenna is presented. This method is used to compensate for the antenna structural deformation caused by environment loading.

Single-photon entanglement generation by wavefront shaping in a multiple-scattering medium
We demonstrate the control of entanglement of a single photon between several spatial modes propagating through a strongly scattering medium. Measurement of the scattering matrix allows the wavefront of the photon to be shaped to compensate the ...

Although electrochemical scanning tunneling microscopy provides atomic‐scale access to electrified interfaces, quantitative in situ and operando investigations suffer from drift‐induced distortions. This work introduces the Lattice Fourier Analyzer (LFA), which employs substrate‐anchored affine drift correction in reciprocal space to recover precise ...

Predictive control of thermally induced wavefront aberrations
In this paper we experimentally demonstrate the proof of concept for predictive control of thermally induced wavefront aberrations in optical systems. On the basis of the model of thermally induced wavefront aberrations and using only past wavefront measurements, the proposed adaptive optics controller is able to predict and to compensate the future ...

The coronagraphic Modal Wavefront Sensor: a hybrid focal-plane sensor for the high-contrast imaging of circumstellar environments [PDF]
The raw coronagraphic performance of current high-contrast imaging instruments is limited by the presence of a quasi-static speckle (QSS) background, resulting from instrumental non-common path errors (NCPEs).

Transducers convert physical signals into electrical and optical representations, yet each mechanism is bounded by intrinsic trade‐offs across bandwidth, sensitivity, speed, and energy. This review maps transduction mechanisms across physical scale and frequency, showing how heterogeneous integration and multiphysics co‐design transform isolated ...

Metasurfaces can achieve multifunctional wavefront control, but most co-polarized metasurfaces can only achieve a 360° phase coverage at specific frequency points. In this paper, we propose a metasurface with efficient co-polarized Terahertz (THz)

Collaborative development of diffraction-limited beamline optical systems at US DOE light sources [PDF]
An ongoing collaboration among four US Department of Energy (DOE) National Laboratories has demonstrated key technology prototypes and software modeling tools required for new high-coherent flux beamline optical systems. New free electron laser (FEL) and

Combined approach of electromagnetic (Power) and ultrasound (data harvesting) waves is proposed to address the miniaturized ultrasonic implants. Electromagnetic waves trigger the piezoelectric element to generate the acoustic pulse which is modulated by the variations in the sensor's impedance.

Time-reversed optical focusing through scattering media by digital full phase and amplitude recovery using a single phase-only SLM [PDF]
Focusing light though scattering media beyond the ballistic regime is a challenging task in biomedical optical imaging. This challenge can be overcome by wavefront shaping technique, in which a time-reversed (TR) wavefront of scattered light is generated
