Tunable Extraordinary Optical Transmission in the Long‐Wavelength Infrared Range Using Electrostatic MEMS Actuation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A MEMS‐integrated metamaterial filter enables continuous, low‐voltage spectral tuning in the long‐wavelength infrared (LWIR). The device employs extraordinary optical transmission in a dual suspended metasurface stack, where electrostatic actuation precisely controls the intermembrane air gap.

Towards enhanced resolution in reflection-mode light scattering microscopy

open access: yesJPhys Photonics
Optical microscopy faces challenges in resolution and depth due to light scattering in biological tissues. Conventional transmission-mode light scattering microscopy is typically constrained by a single-pass wavefront correction, incapable of ...

Optical wavefront shaping based on functional metasurfaces

open access: yesNanophotonics, 2020
Regarded as a kind of smart surfaces, metasurfaces can arbitrarily tailor the amplitude, phase, and polarization of light. Metasurfaces usually consist of subwavelength nanoantenna or nanoresonator arrays, which are delicately designed and processed.

Nonlocal Metasurfaces for Active and Multifunctional Wavefront Shaping

open access: yes, 2023
Metasurfaces are nanostructured interfaces capable of manipulating the phase, amplitude, or polarization of free-space light. ‘Local’ metasurfaces typically control the wavefront shape of spectrally broadband light to generate devices such as flat lenses,
