Disentangling Polaron Formation Pathways in Y6 by Probing Noninteracting and Interacting Chromophores via Transient Absorption Spectroscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The central role of both electronically interacting and noninteracting chromophores in the photogeneration of charges has been unambiguously identified by ultrafast pump‐probe spectroscopy in thin films of the prototypical non‐fullerene acceptor Y6. Onsager‐like autoionization from higher‐energy excitations on Y6 aggregates is found to control polaron ...

The cosmological bootstrap and the analytic wavefunction [PDF]

open access: yes
In the past few decades there have been an overabundance of models describing inflation, a period where the universe expands exponentially quickly. This led to the rise of the cosmological bootstrap, which aims at constraining cosmological observables in

Electron-nuclear entanglement in the time-dependent molecular wavefunction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
We address the problem of electron-nuclear entanglement in time-dependent molecular wavefunctions, key quantities of quantum nonadiabatic molecular dynamics.

Life‐Like Ferrous Oxide Microspheres from Kombucha

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Kombucha bacterial cellulose, sodium alginate, and ferrous nitrate self‐assemble into membrane‐enclosed iron oxide microspheres. These microspheres bud daughter vesicles, sustain 24‐h electrochemical oscillations, and filter theta‐band signals.

Destructive Interference as a Path to Resolving the Quantum Measurement Problem

open access: yesQuantum Reports
Over the past several decades, there has been an accelerating trend to ever more accurate quantum sensors: sensors of time intervals (i.e., atomic clocks), sensors of magnetic fields (i.e., quantum magnetometers), and sensors of inertial motions (i.e ...

Short and Length‐Independent Group Delay Supported by Topological Edge States in Finite‐Size Su–Schrieffer–Heeger Chains

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates short, length‐independent group delay supported by topological edge states in open Su–Schrieffer–Heeger networks. Strong boundary port coupling enables an order‐of‐magnitude latency reduction compared to bulk modes, alongside robust protection against bulk disorder.

Energy gaps for fractional quantum Hall states described by a Chern-Simons composite fermion wavefunction

open access: yes, 2001
The Jain\u27s composite fermion wavefunction has proven quite succesful to describe most of the fractional quantum Hall states. Its mathematical foundation lies in the Chern-Simons field theory for the electrons in the lowest Landau level, despite the ...

The graviton four-point function in de Sitter space

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2023
We compute the tree-level late-time graviton four-point correlation function, and the related quartic wavefunction coefficient, for Einstein gravity in de Sitter spacetime.

Phase Diagrams and Piezoelectric Properties of Wurtzite Al1−x−yScxGdyN Heterostructural Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates ferroelectricity and piezoelectric properties improvement of quaternary wurtzite Al1−x−yScxGdyN${\rm Al}_{1-x-y}{\rm Sc}_x{\rm Gd}_y{\rm N}$ films, guided by density functional theory calculations. Wurtzite Al1−x−yScxGdyN${\rm Al}_{1-x-y}{\rm Sc}_x{\rm Gd}_y{\rm N}$ films have a high optical bandgap, enhanced piezoelectric ...

Measurements on the reality of the wavefunction

open access: yes, 2014
Quantum mechanics is an outstandingly successful description of nature, underpinning fields from biology through chemistry to physics. At its heart is the quantum wavefunction, the central tool for describing quantum systems. Yet it is still unclear what
