UVB solar radiation climatology for Mexico

A Novel Method to Estimate the Damage Severity Using Spatial Wavelets and Local Regularity Algorithm

open access: yesFracture and Structural Integrity, 2020
In the process of structural damage detection using continuous wavelet transform (CWT), the perturbation or damage is located by identifying the defects locally in the input signal data.

Wavelet Electrodynamics [PDF]

open access: yesApplied and Computational Harmonic Analysis, 1992
A new representation for solutions of Maxwell's equations is derived. Instead of being expanded in plane waves, the solutions are given as linear superpositions of spherical wavelets dynamically adapted to the Maxwell field and well-localized in space at the initial time.

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Robust Load Frequency Control in Cyber-Vulnerable Smart Grids with Renewable Integration

open access: yesEnergies
Frequency regulation (FR) constitutes a fundamental aspect of power system stability, particularly in the context of the growing integration of intermittent renewable energy sources (RES) and electric vehicles (EVs).

An epithelial GPR35 isoform supports tumor‐associated transcriptional and metabolic phenotypes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
GPR35 generates two functionally distinct isoforms with previously unresolved roles. GPR35‐short mediates immune‐cell chemotaxis, while GPR35‐long is enriched in colorectal cancer epithelium, where it supports increased metabolism, proliferation, and tumor‐associated transcriptional programs.

Wavelet‐type frames and wavelet‐type bases [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2005
The concepts of basis and frame are studied in the classical literature of functional analysis, Fourier analysis, and wavelet theory in a wide range. In this paper, we consider an operator‐theoretic approach to discrete frame theory on a separable Hilbert space.

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Sub-second dynamics of theta-gamma coupling in hippocampal CA1

open access: yeseLife, 2019
Oscillatory brain activity reflects different internal brain states including neurons’ excitatory state and synchrony among neurons. However, characterizing these states is complicated by the fact that different oscillations are often coupled, such as ...
