A Sequential, Implicit, Wavelet-Based Solver for Multi-Scale Time-Dependent Partial Differential Equations

open access: yesAxioms, 2013
This paper describes and tests a wavelet-based implicit numerical method for solving partial differential equations. Intended for problems with localized small-scale interactions, the method exploits the form of the wavelet decomposition to divide the ...

Oversampling of wavelet frames for real dilations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We generalize the Second Oversampling Theorem for wavelet frames and dual wavelet frames from the setting of integer dilations to real dilations. We also study the relationship between dilation matrix oversampling of semi-orthogonal Parseval wavelet ...

Ubiquitination of transcription factors in cancer: unveiling therapeutic potential

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In cancer, dysregulated ubiquitination of transcription factors contributes to the uncontrolled growth and survival characteristics of tumors. Tumor suppressors are degraded by aberrant ubiquitination, or oncogenic transcription factors gain stability through ubiquitination, thereby promoting tumorigenesis.

TSCNet: Topological Structure Coupling Network for Change Detection of Heterogeneous Remote Sensing Images

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2023
With the development of deep learning, convolutional neural networks (CNNs) have been successfully applied in the field of change detection in heterogeneous remote sensing (RS) images and achieved remarkable results. However, most of the existing methods

The Haar Wavelet Transform of a Dendrogram: Additional Notes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We consider the wavelet transform of a finite, rooted, node-ranked, $p$-way tree, focusing on the case of binary ($p = 2$) trees. We study a Haar wavelet transform on this tree.

Understanding and measuring mechanical signals in the tumor stroma

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This review discusses cancer‐associated fibroblast subtypes and their functions, particularly in relation to extracellular matrix production, as well as the development of 3D models to study tumor stroma mechanics in vitro. Several quantitative techniques to measure tissue mechanical properties are also described, to emphasize the diagnostic and ...

Intelligent Wavelet Based Pre-Filtering Method for Ultrasonic Sensor Fusion Inverse Algorithm Performance Optimization

open access: yesInventions, 2021
Certain obstacle mapping applications require the live evaluation of the measured data to prevent collision with obstacles. The fusion of different or similar sensors usually has a high calculation demand, which increases significantly with the area to ...

KCS1 and VIP1, the genes encoding yeast phosphoinositol pyrophosphate synthases, are required for Ca2+‐mediated response to dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO)

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Ca2+‐mediated response to DMSO was investigated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae cells expressing Ca2+‐dependent aequorin. Cell exposure to DMSO induced a cytosolic Ca2+ wave dependent on the integrity of the Cch1/Mid1 channel. Deletion of KCS1 or VIP1 genes encoding the phosphoinositol pyrophosphate (PP‐IP) synthases suppressed the DMSO‐induced Ca2 ...

Broadband Generalized Sidelobe Canceler Beamforming Applied to Ultrasonic Imaging

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
A broadband generalized sidelobe canceler (Broadband-GSC) application for near-field beamforming is proposed. This approach is implemented in the wavelet domain.
