Effect of terahertz irradiation on DNA damage repair in living cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We investigated the effect of terahertz (THz) wave irradiation on DNA double‐strand break (DSB) repair in living cells. We found that THz irradiation enhanced DSB repair at specific frequencies, whereas heat treatment inhibited it, indicating that this effect is nonthermal and frequency‐specific.

The Adequateness of Wavelet Based Model for Time Series [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In general, time series is modeled as summation of known information i.e. historical information components, and unknown information i.e. random component. In wavelet based model, time series is represented as linear model of wavelet coecients. Wavelet

Wavelet shrinkage using adaptive structured sparsity constraints [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Structured sparsity approaches have recently received much attention in the statistics, machine learning, and signal processing communities. A common strategy is to exploit or assume prior information about structural dependencies inherent in the data ...

Sub-second dynamics of theta-gamma coupling in hippocampal CA1

open access: yeseLife, 2019
Oscillatory brain activity reflects different internal brain states including neurons’ excitatory state and synchrony among neurons. However, characterizing these states is complicated by the fact that different oscillations are often coupled, such as ...

Error bounds of a function related to generalized Lipschitz class via the pseudo-Chebyshev wavelet and its applications in the approximation of functions

open access: yesKarpatsʹkì Matematičnì Publìkacìï, 2022
In this paper, a new computation method derived to solve the problems of approximation theory. This method is based upon pseudo-Chebyshev wavelet approximations. The pseudo-Chebyshev wavelet is being presented for the first time.

Super‐Refractory Status Epilepticus (SRSE) in a Patient With Compound Heterozygous OPA1 Variants: Case Report and Literature Review

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Super‐Refractory Status Epilepticus (SRSE) is a rare, life‐threatening neurological emergency with unclear etiology in many cases. Mitochondrial dysfunction, often due to disease‐causing genetic variants, is increasingly recognized as a cause, with each gene producing distinct pathophysiological mechanisms.

Assessing the Speciation of Lutjanus campechanus and Lutjanus purpureus through Otolith Shape and Genetic Analyses

open access: yesFishes, 2022
Based on their morphological and genetic similarity, several studies have proposed that Lutjanus campechanus and Lutjanus purpureus are the same species, but there is no confirmed consensus yet.

Remote Assessment of Ataxia Severity in SCA3 Across Multiple Centers and Time Points

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Spinocerebellar ataxia type 3 (SCA3) is a genetically defined ataxia. The Scale for Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA) is a clinician‐reported outcome that measures ataxia severity at a single time point. In its standard application, SARA fails to capture short‐term fluctuations, limiting its sensitivity in trials.
