Designing UAV-aided emergency networks for large-scale disaster scenarios
■■■ Today’s wireless communication networks are very reliable. However, in case of a disaster, these networks can be overwhelmed by a tremendous amount of requests which they can not cope with.

Use of the 3D radon transform to examine the properties of oceanic Rossby waves [PDF]
One of the most successful applications of satellite-borne radar altimeter data over the oceans in recent years has been the extraction of information about long-wavelength baroclinic Rossby (or planetary) waves, which play a significant role in ocean ...

Wave Spectrum of Breaking Waves
By wave breaking, an incident monocromatic wave is transformed to a wave composed of its harmonic frequency waves inside a surf zone. Based on a dimensional consideration, the "-1 power law ", the "-2 power law ", the "-2/3 power law " and the "-1/2 power law " on the wave height spectrum ,H(f), are derived as sorts of equilibrium spectra.

We show the existence of a family of waves that share a common interesting property affecting the way they propagate and focus. These waves are a superposition of twin waves, which are conjugate to each other under inversion of the propagation direction.

ABSTRACT Objective Super‐Refractory Status Epilepticus (SRSE) is a rare, life‐threatening neurological emergency with unclear etiology in many cases. Mitochondrial dysfunction, often due to disease‐causing genetic variants, is increasingly recognized as a cause, with each gene producing distinct pathophysiological mechanisms.

Traveling Waves and Superposition Demonstration
The applet shows two waves and their superposition. While keeping the parameters for one wave the same, change the parameters for the other wave to create a standing wave. Note that you can't change the speed directly.

Remote Assessment of Ataxia Severity in SCA3 Across Multiple Centers and Time Points
ABSTRACT Objective Spinocerebellar ataxia type 3 (SCA3) is a genetically defined ataxia. The Scale for Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA) is a clinician‐reported outcome that measures ataxia severity at a single time point. In its standard application, SARA fails to capture short‐term fluctuations, limiting its sensitivity in trials.

Vector Rogue Waves and Baseband Modulation Instability in the Defocusing Regime [PDF]
We report and discuss analytical solutions of the vector nonlinear Schrödinger equation that describe rogue waves in the defocusing regime. This family of solutions includes bright-dark and dark-dark rogue waves. The link between modulational instability
