Multifactorial Role of Phytogenic CeO2 NPs in Crop Improvement and Stress Alleviation: A Mechanistic Overview

open access: yesPlant-Environment Interactions, Volume 7, Issue 5, October 2026.
The graphical abstract illustrates how CeO2 nanoparticles help plants withstand biotic and abiotic stresses. Their application reduces excessive ROS through enhanced antioxidant defenses, whereas modulating stress signaling, phytohormones, and gene expression.

Assembly and Properties of Donor/Acceptor–Functionalized 2,6‐Bisethynylpyridines; Investigations of Through‐Bond and Through‐Space Charge Transfer Behavior

open access: yesJournal of Physical Organic Chemistry, Volume 39, Issue 10, October 2026.
Introduction of a cation to donor/acceptor‐functionalized 2,6‐bisethynylpyridines results in through‐space interaction of donor and acceptor units. The electronic effects of this organization are explored using 1H‐NMR and UV‐vis spectroscopies. ABSTRACT Introduction of Ag(I) cations to 2,6‐bisethynylpyridine units decorated with electron‐donating (N,N ...

Two distinct alcohol dehydrogenase classes mediate bacterial 2‐hydroxyethylphosphonate catabolism

open access: yesProtein Science, Volume 35, Issue 10, October 2026.
Abstract Phosphonates are molecules containing a direct carbon‐phosphorus bond. In nature, these compounds are produced by a variety of organisms, and many environmental microbes are able to degrade specific phosphonates and feed on them. This work focuses on 2‐hydroxyethylphosphonate (HEP)—a natural compound that is found frequently in the environment,

Host plant‐specific volatiles of Beauveria bassiana‐colonized plants initiate trophic plant–aphid–predator cascades

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 82, Issue 10, Page 9538-9552, October 2026.
Endophytic colonization of melon plants by B. bassiana modifies the crop volatile profiles in a genotype‐dependent manner. A predator choice is biased toward endophytically colonized plants infested with aphids revealing a guardian within effect of the fungus of great potential in integrated pest management.
