Connection of inverters to a weak grid

No.00CH37018), 2002Connection of an inverter to export power to the mains for a stiff supply is well understood. This paper examines the dynamics of power export to a weak grid. In this case the local bus angle changes for changes in export power which interferes with the process of synthesizing the inverter voltage.

Wind turbines voltage support in weak grids
2013 IEEE Power & Energy Society General Meeting, 2013This paper investigates how Full-Scale Converter (FSC) wind turbines can contribute to voltage support in weak grids. A novel voltage support strategy is proposed, which optimizes the voltage support during the fault. This strategy is compared to the voltage support required by two grid codes, the Danish and the German E.ON ones.
