3D (Bio) Printing Combined Fiber Fabrication Methods for Tissue Engineering Applications: Possibilities and Limitations

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Biofabrication aims at providing innovative technologies and tools for the fabrication of tissue‐like constructs for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine applications. By integrating multiple biofabrication technologies, such as 3D (bio) printing with fiber fabrication methods, it would be more realistic to reconstruct native tissue's ...

Grid-Connected Inverter Grid Voltage Feedforward Control Strategy Based on Multi-Objective Constraint in Weak Grid

open access: yesEnergies
In weak grid, feedforward of grid voltage control is widely used to effectively suppress grid-side current distortion of inverters caused by harmonics in point of common coupling (PCC) voltage. However, due to its introduction of a positive feedback loop

Rational Fine‐Tuning of MOF Pore Metrics: Enhanced SO2 Capture and Sensing with Optimal Multi‐Site Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A pore tuning strategy to amplify the multi‐site MOF‐SO2 interactions is proposed to achieve an enhanced trace SO2 capture and chemiresistive sensing in highly stable isostructural DMOFs by annelating benzene rings. This work provides a facile strategy to achieve tailor‐made stable MOF materials for specific multifunctional applications.

Group Synchronization on Grids

open access: yes, 2017
Group synchronization requires to estimate unknown elements $({\theta}_v)_{v\in V}$ of a compact group ${\mathfrak G}$ associated to the vertices of a graph $G=(V,E)$, using noisy observations of the group differences associated to the edges.

Optimization of Generalized Multichannel Quantum Defect reference functions for Feshbach resonance characterization

open access: yes, 2009
This work stresses the importance of the choice of the set of reference functions in the Generalized Multichannel Quantum Defect Theory to analyze the location and the width of Feshbach resonance occurring in collisional cross-sections.

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

The generation of strong magnetic fields during the formation of the first stars

open access: yes, 2010
Cosmological hydrodynamical simulations of primordial star formation suggest that the gas within the first star-forming halos is turbulent. This has strong implications on the subsequent evolution, in particular on the generation of magnetic fields ...

Improved model predictive direct power control of grid side converter in weak grid using kalman filter and DSOGI

open access: yesChinese Journal of Electrical Engineering, 2019
When grid side converter (GSC) is connected to weak grid, the small signal instability can happen due to terminal characteristics of the GSC that are incompatible with the grid impedance.
