INTEGRATION OF WIND FARMS INTO WEAK AC GRIDS [PDF]
Large wind farms are usually located in remote and offshore areas. High voltage transmission systems that have long transmission distances are used to deliver the wind power to main grids. Weak AC grids have high impedance, low short circuit ratio (SCR) and/or low inertia compared to strong AC grids.

A Robust Method for Controlling Grid-Connected Inverters in Weak Grids
Stable operation of grid-connected converters with the LCL filter is essential. Variations of the grid impedance and consequently, variations of the resonance frequency, can push the system toward instability. Also, delay that comes from sampling and PWM, could worsen the stability condition.

Convergence of a cell-centered finite volume discretization for linear elasticity [PDF]
We show convergence of a cell-centered finite volume discretization for linear elasticity. The discretization, termed the MPSA method, was recently proposed in the context of geological applications, where cell-centered variables are often preferred. Our

Hybrid power plant control to enhance voltage stability in weak grid
This paper presents the potential of hybrid power plants (HPPs) to improve voltage stability in weak grids. Moving towards converter-based generations, installation capacity of the available renewable sources is significantly limited by weak grids. While

Adaptive Multigrid Algorithm for Lattice QCD
We present a new multigrid solver that is suitable for the Dirac operator in the presence of disordered gauge fields. The key behind the success of the algorithm is an adaptive projection onto the coarse grids that preserves the near null space.

On Stability of Voltage Source Inverters in Weak Grids
As the number of inverters increases in the power grid, the stability of grid-tied inverters becomes an important concern for the power industry. In particular, a weak grid can lead to voltage fluctuations at the inverter terminals and consequently cause

A possible counterexample to wellposedness of entropy solutions and to Godunov scheme convergence
A particular case of initial data for the two-dimensional Euler equations is studied numerically. The results show that the Godunov method does not always converge to the physical solution, at least not on feasible grids.

A new approach to high resolution, high contrast electron microscopy of macromolecular block copolymer assemblies [PDF]
Determining the structure of macromolecular samples is vital for understanding and adapting their function. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) is widely used to achieve this, but, owing to the weak electron scattering cross-section of carbon, TEM ...

In this paper, we are interested in the strong convergence properties of the Ninomiya-Victoir scheme which is known to exhibit weak convergence with order 2. We prove strong convergence with order $1/2$.
