MHD triple diffusion due to the impulsive flow of micropolar nanofluids around a cone: Mangler's transformations and ANN analyses

open access: yesPropulsion and Power Research
An implicit finite difference (FD) and artificial neural network (ANN) techniques are applied to study the triple diffusion and non-linear mixed convection flow around a vertical cone.

Alteration Mechanisms and Classification Criteria of Hercynian Mid-term Granite in the North Tianshan Mountains [PDF]

open access: yes长江科学院院报
[Objective] This study aims to address the limitations of traditional quantitative classification methods for altered granites, which often lead to coarse grade divisions and significant discrepancies in rock degradation between adjacent grades. Focusing

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Monsoonal imprint on late Quaternary landscapes of the Rub’ al Khali Desert

open access: yesCommunications Earth & Environment
Abundant geomorphological, biological, and isotopic records show that Arabia repeatedly underwent significant climate-driven environmental changes during late Quaternary humid periods.

Triplectic Quantization: A Geometrically Covariant Description of the Sp(2)-symmetric Lagrangian Formalism

open access: yes, 1995
A geometric description is given for the Sp(2) covariant version of the field-antifield quantization of general constrained systems in the Lagrangian formalism.

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

On Deformations of Pasting Diagrams [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We adapt the work of Power to describe general, not-necessarily composable, not-necessarily commutative 2-categorical pasting diagrams and their composable and commutative parts.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.
