Coevolution leaves a weak signal on ecological networks

open access: yesEcosphere, 2017
One of the major challenges in evolutionary ecology is to understand how coevolution shapes species interaction networks. Important topological properties of networks such as nestedness and modularity are thought to be affected by coevolution.

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Signal Processing Method and Evaluation Method for Weak Doppler Signal Detection

open access: yesSensors
When the amplitude of the laser Doppler signal is less than that of the noise amplitude, the speed information cannot be identified. In this paper, the recognition of weak Doppler signals is accomplished by superimposing multiple-frame Doppler signals in

Weak GPS Signal Acquisition Algorithm Based on Chaotic Oscillator

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2009
To detect weak Global Position System (GPS) signal indoors, various high-sensitivity detection algorithms have been proposed. However, a common tradeoff between high-sensitivity and computation burden impedes development of high sensitivity GPS receiver.

Weak Measurements Beyond the Aharonov-Albert-Vaidman Formalism

open access: yes, 2011
We extend the idea of weak measurements to the general case, provide a complete treatment and obtain results for both the regime when the pre-selected and post-selected states (PPS) are almost orthogonal and the regime when they are exactly orthogonal ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Superradiance and enhanced luminescence from ensembles of a few self-assembled quantum dots

open access: yes, 2014
We study the evolution of photoluminescence (PL) from homogeneous and inhomogeneous ensembles of a few coupled QDs. We discuss the relation between signals from a given QD ensemble under strong and weak excitation (full inversion and linear response ...

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.
