Metformin mediates mitochondrial quality control in Leber's hereditary optic neuropathy (LHON) fibroblasts carrying mtDNA mutations. At therapeutic levels, metformin activates AMPK signaling to restore mitochondrial dynamics by promoting fusion and restraining fission, while preserving mitochondrial mass, enhancing autophagy/mitophagy and biogenesis ...

Stability of weak solutions of a non-Newtonian polytropic filtration equation
We study a non-Newtonian polytropic filtration equation with a convection term. We introduce new type of weak solutions and show the existence of weak solutions.

Tandem VHH targeting distinct EGFR epitopes were engineered into a monovalent bispecific antibody (7D12‐EGA1‐Fc) with more potent ADCC without increasing affinity to EGFR. Structural modeling of 7D12‐EGA1‐Fc showed cross‐linking of separate EGFR domains to enhance CD16a engagement on NK cells.

Various quantum measurement procedures are analyzed and it is shown that under certain conditions they yield consistently {\em weak values} which might be very different from the eigenvalues, the allowed outcomes according to the standard quantum formalism. The weak value outcomes result from peculiar quantum interference of the pointer variable of the

KLK7, a tissue kallikrein‐related peptidase, is elevated in advanced colorectal cancer and associated with shorter survival. High KLK7 levels in ascites correlate with peritoneal metastasis. In mice, KLK7 overexpression increases metastasis. In vitro, KLK7 enhances cancer cell proliferation, migration, adhesion, and spheroid formation, driving ...

NF90–NF45 functions as a negative regulator of methyltransferase‐like 3/14 (METTL3/14)‐mediated N6‐methyladenosine (m6A) modification on primary microRNAs (pri‐miRNAs). NF90–NF45 binds to anti‐oncogenic pri‐miRNAs and inhibits their m6A modification, thereby suppressing the biogenesis of anti‐oncogenic miRNAs.

Aged human bmMSCs are seeded in the scaffold. Osteoblastic induction can slightly increase cell's bone‐forming activity to produce bone‐like tissues, shown as the sporadic xylenol orange‐stained spots (the lower left image). Notably, pioglitazone plus EGCG co‐treatment dramatically increases cell's bone‐forming activity and bone‐like tissue production (

Weak Measurement, Weak Value and Interferometry
Measurement theory, based on projective measurements, is a fundamental aspect of quantum mechanics. Weak measurements differ from standard projective measurements on which the elementary axioms of quantum physics are built. Although weak measurement framework is defined within standard quantum mechanics, its implications are still poorly understood ...
