Second-order maximum principle controlled weakly singular Volterra integral equations [PDF]

open access: yesArchives of Control Sciences
This work studies a class of singular Volterra integral equations that are (controlled) and can be applied to memory-related problems. For optimum controls, we prove a second-order Pontryagin type maximal principle.

Enhanced Strength and Corrosion Resistance of Ti‐13Nb‐12Ta‐10Zr‐4Sn Alloy by Aging Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work systematically investigates the effect of aging treatment on mechanical properties and corrosion behavior of vacuum arc‐melted Ti‐13Nb‐12Ta‐10Zr‐4Sn alloy. Owing to the increased α″ martensite, strength and corrosion resistance were significantly enhanced by aging treatment.

Collocation Solutions of a Weakly Singular Volterra Integral Equation

open access: yesTrends in Computational and Applied Mathematics, 2007
The discrete superconvergence properties of spline collocation solutions for a certain Volterra integral equation with weakly singular kernel are analyzed.

Numerical quadrature methods for integrals of singular periodic functions and their application to singular and weakly singular integral equations [PDF]

open access: yes
High accuracy numerical quadrature methods for integrals of singular periodic functions are proposed. These methods are based on the appropriate Euler-Maclaurin expansions of trapezoidal rule approximations and their extrapolations.

Direct Metal Deposition of Graphene–Ti28Nb35.4Zr Matrix Composites With Enhanced Mechanical, Corrosion, and Biocompatibility Properties for Bone Implants

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Graphene nanoplatelet (0.1 wt.%) reinforcement significantly enhances the performance of β Ti‐28Nb‐35.4Zr alloy. Grain refinement, reduced water contact angle, and improved surface characteristics promote osteoblast adhesion and complete surface coverage after 7 days.

Henry-Gronwall Integral Inequalities with “Maxima” and Their Applications to Fractional Differential Equations

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2014
Some new weakly singular Henry-Gronwall type integral inequalities with “maxima” are established in this paper. Applications to Caputo fractional differential equations with “maxima” are also presented.

On large indecomposable Banach spaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Hereditarily indecomposable Banach spaces may have density at most continuum (Plichko-Yost, Argyros-Tolias). In this paper we show that this cannot be proved for indecomposable Banach spaces. We provide the first example of an indecomposable Banach space

In Situ Micromechanical Study of Bimodal γ′–γ″ Precipitate Assemblies in Ni–Cr–Al–Nb Superalloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A Ni–Cr–Al–Nb superalloy with a bimodal γ′–γ″ precipitate distribution is developed. Composite precipitate assemblies form through heterogeneous nucleation, effectively impeding dislocation motion. Micropillar compression reveals high strength at room and elevated temperatures, governed by precipitate shearing, with coupled faulting mechanisms ...

Gronwall-Bellman Type Inequalities and Their Applications to Fractional Differential Equations

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2013
Some new weakly singular integral inequalities of Gronwall-Bellman type are established, which can be used in the qualitative analysis of the solutions to certain fractional differential equations.

Cathodic Cage Plasma Deposition of Nanostructured Cu–Fe–Se Coatings on Poly(methyl Methacrylate)

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Nanostructured Cu–Fe–Se coatings are deposited on PMMA by a modified cathodic cage plasma process, enabling low‐temperature deposition on polymer substrates. A transition from discontinuous to compact morphology is observed with temperature, with optimal properties at 200°C, where improved CuFeSe2‐type bonding, lowest sheet resistance, and favorable ...
