An efficient spectral method for nonlinear Volterra integro-differential equations with weakly singular kernels

open access: yesMathematical Modelling and Analysis
For Volterra integro-differential equations (VIDEs) with weakly singular kernels, their solutions are singular at the initial time. This property brings a great challenge to traditional numerical methods. Here, we investigate the numerical approximation

Adaptive isogeometric boundary element methods with local smoothness control

open access: yes, 2019
In the frame of isogeometric analysis, we consider a Galerkin boundary element discretization of the hyper-singular integral equation associated with the 2D Laplacian.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

A Regularization of Fredholm type singular integral equations

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2001
We present a method to regularize first and second kind integral equations of Fredholm type with singular kernel. By appropriate application of the Poincaré-Bertrand formula we change such integral equations into a second kind Fredholm's integral ...

On the stability of piecewise polynomial collocation methods for solving weakly singular integral equations of the second kind

open access: yesMathematical Modelling and Analysis, 2008
Piecewise polynomial collocation methods on special nonuniform grids are efficient methods for solving weakly singular Fredholm and Volterra integral equations but there is a widespread belief that those methods are numerically unstable in the case of ...

Some facts about functionals of location and scatter

open access: yes, 2006
Assumptions on a likelihood function, including a local Glivenko-Cantelli condition, imply the existence of M-estimators converging to an M-functional.

Multiresolution separated representations of singular and weakly singular operators

open access: yesApplied and Computational Harmonic Analysis, 2007
For a finite but arbitrary precision, efficient low separation rank representations for the Poisson kernel and for the projector on the divergence free functions in the dimension \(d=3\)are constructed. The given construction requires computing only one-dimensional integrals.

Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...

Numerical solution of a fractional order model of HIV infection of CD4+T cells.

open access: yesپژوهش‌های ریاضی, 2022
In this paper we consider a fractional order model of HIV infection of  CD4+T cells and we transform this fractional order system of ordinary differential equations to a system of weakly singular integral equations. Afterwards we propose a Nystrom method

Transition from wave turbulence to dynamical crumpling in vibrated elastic plates

open access: yes, 2013
We study the dynamical regime of wave turbulence of a vibrated thin elastic plate based on experimental and numerical observations. We focus our study to the strongly non linear regime described in a previous letter by N. Yokoyama & M. Takaoka.
