Weakly supervised classification in high energy physics

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2017
As machine learning algorithms become increasingly sophisticated to exploit subtle features of the data, they often become more dependent on simulations.

Real-World Video Anomaly Detection by Extracting Salient Features in Videos

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
We propose a lightweight and accurate method for detecting anomalies in videos. Existing methods used multiple-instance learning (MIL) to determine the normal/abnormal status of each segment of the video.

Weakly-Supervised Learning of Visual Relations [PDF]

open access: yes2017 IEEE International Conference on Computer Vision (ICCV), 2017
This paper introduces a novel approach for modeling visual relations between pairs of objects. We call relation a triplet of the form (subject, predicate, object) where the predicate is typically a preposition (eg. 'under', 'in front of') or a verb ('hold', 'ride') that links a pair of objects (subject, object).

SinkholeNet: A novel RGB-slope sinkhole dataset and deep weakly-supervised learning framework for sinkhole classification and localization

open access: yesEgyptian Journal of Remote Sensing and Space Sciences, 2023
This paper proposes a novel multimodal deep weakly-supervised learning framework, SinkholeNet, to classify and localize sinkhole(s) in high-resolution RGB-slope aerial images.

Weakly Supervised Cross-Domain Mixed Dish Detection With Mean-Teacher

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Mixed dish, which mixes different types of dishes in one plate, is a popular kind of food in East and Southeast Asia. Identifying the dish type in the mixed dish is essential for dietary tracking, which gains increasing research attention recently ...

Learning Weakly-Supervised Contrastive Representations

open access: yesCoRR, 2022
We argue that a form of the valuable information provided by the auxiliary information is its implied data clustering information. For instance, considering hashtags as auxiliary information, we can hypothesize that an Instagram image will be semantically more similar with the same hashtags. With this intuition, we present a two-stage weakly-supervised

Weakly supervised instance action recognition

open access: yesComputational Visual Media
We study the novel problem of weakly supervised instance action recognition (WSiAR) in multi-person (crowd) scenes. We specifically aim to recognize the action of each subject in the crowd, for which we propose the use of a weakly supervised method ...

Weakly Supervised Violence Detection in Surveillance Video

open access: yesSensors, 2022
Automatic violence detection in video surveillance is essential for social and personal security. Monitoring the large number of surveillance cameras used in public and private areas is challenging for human operators.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...
