Multimodal Human–Robot Interaction Using Human Pose Estimation and Local Large Language Models

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A multimodal human–robot interaction framework integrates human pose estimation (HPE) and a large language model (LLM) for gesture‐ and voice‐based robot control. Speech‐to‐text (STT) enables voice command interpretation, while a safety‐aware arbitration mechanism prioritizes gesture input for rapid intervention.

Spatio-Temporal Capsule Networks for Weakly Supervised Surveillance Video Anomaly Detection

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Real surveillance systems require weakly supervised video anomaly detection due to the fact that long untrimmed videos do not always have accurate temporal labels. Models will be required to label a video as normal or abnormal and also to identify sparse

Modular, Textile‐Based Soft Robotic Grippers for Agricultural Produce Handling

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This article introduces textile‐based pneumatic grippers that transform simple textiles into robust bending actuators. Detailed experiments uncover how cut geometry and fabric selection shape performance. Successful handling of fragile agricultural items showcases the potential of textile robotics for safe, scalable automation in food processing and ...

2by2: Weakly-Supervised Learning for Global Action Segmentation

open access: yes
This paper presents a simple yet effective approach for the poorly investigated task of global action segmentation, aiming at grouping frames capturing the same action across videos of different activities. Unlike the case of videos depicting all the same activity, the temporal order of actions is not roughly shared among all videos, making the task ...
