Proteasome inhibitor, ixazomib prevents topoisomerase‐I degradation and reverses irinotecan resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ixazomib inhibits proteasome‐mediated degradation of topoisomerase I induced by irinotecan, thereby restoring drug sensitivity and promoting tumor cell death in colorectal cancer. Irinotecan, a topoisomerase I (topoI) inhibitor, is widely used for colorectal cancer, but resistance remains a major clinical challenge.

UAV formation control based on distributed Kalman model predictive control algorithm

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2022
To address the perturbation of formation of multiple unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) subject to external disturbances, an algorithm of distributed Kalman model predictive control is proposed in this paper to improve the accuracy of maintaining a ...

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

Radar Error Correlation Analysis Under the Simultaneous Observation of Double Targets

open access: yesIEEE Access
Radar error is a significant factor restricting the detection accuracy of radar. Improving the detection accuracy of radar is crucial to accurate target localization in an ocean environment.

Finding novel vulnerabilities of hypomorphic BRCA1 alleles

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Synthetic lethality screens performed to identify novel vulnerabilities often model complete gene loss, thereby overlooking patient‐derived hypomorphic mutations. In this study, we have performed genome‐wide CRISPR screens on BRCA1 hypomorphic mutations, showing BRCA1I26A behaves like wild‐type, while BRCA1R1699Q mimics deficiency. Furthermore, we have

Remote Weaponry: The Ethical Implications

open access: yes, 2008
The nature of warfare is changing. Increasingly, developments in military technology are removing soldiers from the battlefield, enabling war to be waged from afar. Bombs can be dropped from unmanned drones flying above the range of retaliation. Missiles

Analysis of Characteristics of the Electric Field Induced by an Angularly Rotating and Oscillating Magnetic Object

open access: yesApplied Sciences
A mathematical model for an electric field induced by an angularly oscillating magnetic dipole was proposed with magnetic vector potential to analyze the characteristics of the electric field induced by a rotating and angularly oscillating magnetic ...

Longitudinal genome‐wide aneuploidy measurements in circulating cell‐free DNA to predict lack of benefit from pembrolizumab in patients with metastatic urothelial cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Many patients with urothelial cancer do not benefit from treatment with pembrolizumab, while at risk of severe side effects. Changes in the levels of circulating tumor DNA early during treatment, measured by a simple and affordable assay that can be easily implemented in the clinic, can be used as a prognostic tool to identify these patients.
