Superior Wear-Resistance of Ti3C2Tx Multilayer Coatings.

ACS Nano, 2021
Owing to MXenes' tunable mechanical properties induced by their structural and chemical diversity, MXenes are believed to compete with state-of-the-art 2D nanomaterials such as graphene regarding their tribological performance.

Wear Particles

Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, 2006
Particulate and ionic debris resulting from in vivo degradation of total joint replacement components are recognized as major factors limiting the longevity of the joint reconstruction and the overall success of the procedure. Particulate and ionic wear and corrosion debris have been associated with a locally aggressive biologic response that can lead ...

Effect of reinforced aluminium alloy LM30 with pure ceramic particles to evaluate hardness and wear properties

Materials research innovations (Print), 2020
In this paper, the hardness and wear properties of pure ceramic particles like silicon carbide, boron carbide and graphite are considered in micron size with the reinforced aluminium LM30 metal matrix composites. The stir casting setup is used to prepare

Edit wear and read wear

Proceedings of the SIGCHI conference on Human factors in computing systems - CHI '92, 1992
We describe two applications that illustrate the idea of computational wear in the domain of document processing. By graphically depicting the history of author and reader interactions with documents, these applications offer otherwise unavailable information to guide work.

Wearing gloves for milking in Western New York: To wear or not to wear?

2011
Quality Milk Production Services (QMPS) offers evaluations of the dairy farm operation with regard to optimal and safe production of high quality raw milk. Federal standard for milk SCC currently is 750,000 cells/ml. QMPS provides herd evaluations to prevent any rise in bulk tank SCC above regulatory level.

On the Wear of Sapphire

Journal of Applied Physics, 1961
The wear resistance of single crystals of sapphire was determined as a function of crystallographic orientation with respect to plane of wear and rubbing direction. Distinct anisotropy was found. Evidence of plastic flow at the wear surface on both basal and prismatic slip systems was obtained.

Wear and wear-out

1997
Wear-out is a much more intractable subject than stress rupture, if only because of the literally hundreds of different wear processes that can lead to failure. In spite of this, a common approach to all wear mechanisms is highly desirable, otherwise design methodology becomes a never-ending topic. A common approach is certainly the target of this book.
