Development of wear model for cone crushers

Wear, 2006
Cone crushers are used in the aggregates and mining industries to crush rock material. A model to predict the worn geometry of cone crushers was previously developed. In that model there was some disagreements between predicted and measured geometry and several effects were suggested to explain the discrepancy in the model.

Characterisation and development of wear resistant polyurethaneureas [PDF]

open access: possible, 2022
The wear characteristics of MBOCA based polyurethaneureas and ETHACURE 300 based polyurethaneureas of two different hardnesses have been investigated and compared. Evidence of abrasive and interfacial wear mechanisms were present in all materials but to different degrees depending on the material.

Developments in the oxidational theory of mild wear

Tribology International, 1980
Abstract Previous work in which the oxidational theory of the mild wear of metals has been applied to low alloy steels has revealed discrepancies between theoretical predictions and experimentally derived data. These were due to the incorrect assumption that oxidational constants measured under static conditions could be applied without change to the

[In vivo wear test for posterior composites. 1. Development of wear test predicting composite wear in vivo].

Shika zairyo, kikai = Journal of the Japanese Society for Dental Materials and Devices, 1992
A wear test method based on a new concept was developed for predicting the wear rate of posterior composite restorations in vivo. The concept based on the conclusions derived from our clinical tests on posterior composites that composite restorations would be deteriorated chemically and by repeated compressive stress as well as by abrasion by food ...

Development of a wear tester for abrasive wear of materials by soil particles

1998
Tillage tools are exposed to abrasive wear by soil particles during exploitation. In this paper have been difined the tribosystem of tillage tools, wear mechanism and influential factors. A laboratory tester to simulate the real tillage tools wear process under controlled conditions has been developed and built.

Development of Algorithm for Predicting Fretting Wear

Transactions of the Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers A, 2011
A numerical algorithm for predicting fretting wear was developed using the boundary element method (BEM). A contact analysis was performed numerically using the relation between the elastic displacement and uniformly distributed loading of a rectangular patch on a semi-infinite solid. Geometrical updating based on nodal wear depths was performed.

Recent developments in wear-mechanism maps

Tribology International, 1998
This paper presents a summary of the author's personal view of the development of wear-mechanism maps, culminating in the presentation of some recently proposed maps. These maps, which present wear data in a graphical manner, are able to provide a more global picture of how materials in relative motions behave when different sliding conditions are ...

DEVELOPING HYDROPHILIC LENSES FOR CONTINUOUS WEARING

The Australian Journal of Optometry, 1972
ABSTRACTThe history and development of hydrophilic contact lenses is described. The author continues with an account of his experiments to produce a lens with a higher water content and a higher oxygen flow rate through the lens. This has been achleved and many patients are now wearing lenses made from this material for over a year without removal.

Development of a Particle Collector for Tire Wear

Tire wear particles (TWP) contribute substantially to the particulate matter emissions from modern passenger vehicles.A simulation-based development of a particle collector's geometry is presented. A particle collector is a key component of a TWP measurement system for on-road vehicle tests.
