Design indicators of wear and resistance of grooving cutters with the wear-resistant coatings
Proceedings of Higher Educational Institutions. Маchine Building, 2023The article considers method of calculating the rate of wear, ageing and resistance of the hard alloyed grooving cutters with the wear-resistant coatings on the example of machining workpieces made of corrosion-resistant steel. Polynomial equations were used characterizing the drop in hardness of the wear-resistant coatings as a function of temperature.

Wear Resistance and Wear Mechanisms in Polymer + Metal Composites
Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, 2010We have investigated composites containing metallic micro-size and nano-sized particles as the 10 wt% dispersed phase. Branched low density polyethylene (LDPE) was the matrix. Microsized metals were Al, Ag and Ni; nanosized metals were Al and Ag.

Wear resistance of polyethylene
Polymer Mechanics, 1973The effect of the molecular weight and branching of polyethylene on its wear resistance in direct contact with abrasive particles has been investigated. The abrasive wear resistance of the polyethylene increases with its molecular weight. Copolymers have better wear resistance than homopolymers.

The measurement of wear resistance
Wear, 1961Abstract This is a discussion of several important aspects of evaluating wear resistance. It is focused on abrasion, which is a large area of the complex field of wear. There is no universal wear test. Instead it is necessary to analyze the factors that are most important in a given wear situation and to evaluate these separately or in simple ...
