Wear resistant coatings

Transactions of the IMF, 1984
SUMMARYThe paper discusses mechanisms of surface wear, and treatments to prevent it under the headings: (a) plating processes; (b) thermochemical diffusion treatments; (c) sprayed coatings, and (d) new techniques such as laser hardening, laser alloying, ion plating. Final discussion concerns the factors to be considered when attempting the selection of

Wear-Resisting Concrete

2017
Wear resistance of concrete refers to its capability of resisting the actions of abrasion, erosion, or cavitation. Wear-resisting concrete can be achieved by incorporating (mineral) admixture, latex, microfiber or nanomaterials into conventional concrete. The incorporated materials can improve the microstructure of concrete, restrict the form of cracks

Wear Resistance and Wear Mechanisms in Polymer + Metal Composites

Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, 2010
We have investigated composites containing metallic micro-size and nano-sized particles as the 10 wt% dispersed phase. Branched low density polyethylene (LDPE) was the matrix. Microsized metals were Al, Ag and Ni; nanosized metals were Al and Ag.

Wear resistance of polyethylene

Polymer Mechanics, 1973
The effect of the molecular weight and branching of polyethylene on its wear resistance in direct contact with abrasive particles has been investigated. The abrasive wear resistance of the polyethylene increases with its molecular weight. Copolymers have better wear resistance than homopolymers.

Wear-Resistant Coatings

2013
Abstract The use of thermal spray coatings to restore worn surfaces has provided a significant improvement in surface performance due to improved wear resistance. This article discusses the general use of thermal spray coatings in reducing predominant types of wear, namely, abrasive wear, erosive wear, adhesive wear, and surface fatigue.

Wear resistant alloy, steel

2008 Third International Forum on Strategic Technologies, 2008
Wear is one of the big problem in mining industry. Most of details mining equipment working under deferent type of wearing and need to design new material and properties. Our designed engineering material is good answer for solving some above mentioned problems and have to continue a research work in direction of improving special properties.

Wear-resistant engineering ceramics

Wear, 2001
Abstract Engineering ceramics have a high application potential for wear-protection of different working parts used for extraction, processing, conveying, and dust collection equipment in mining and mineral industries, as well as some structural rotating parts. The high alumina (Al 2 O 3 content from 91 to 99.5 wt.%), alumina–zirconia, zirconia, and
