The perspective presents an integrated view of neuromorphic technologies, from device physics to real‐time applicability, while highlighting the necessity of full‐stack co‐optimization. By outlining practical hardware‐level strategies to exploit device behavior and mitigate non‐idealities, it shows pathways for building efficient, scalable, and ...

Analysis of web spreading induced by the curved axis roller [PDF]
This paper describes the development of a model for predicting the elastic deformations and stresses in a web crossing a curved-axis roller. The Finite Element Method was used to compute web displacements, forces and stresses.

Leaftronics: Bio‐Fractal Scaffolds From Leaf Venation for Low‐Waste Electronics
“Leaftronics” transforms naturally evolved leaf venation into quasi‐fractal scaffolds for sustainable electronics. Polymer‐infiltrated leaf skeletons can be used to fabricate ultra‐smooth, reflow‐ and thin‐film‐compatible decomposable substrates, while making the same lignocellulose networks conducting results in flexible transparent electrodes.

Nonlinear finite element model for web spreading [PDF]
This study concerns the modification of a commercial finite element code (ABAQUS) to efficiently model webs moving over stationary, frictional guides. This modification will allow the user to refine the mesh in areas of interest (i.e. in the contact zone)

Template effect and kinetic control enable crystal‐phase engineering of Ru nanocrystals, granting access to either metastable fcc‐Ru or stable hcp‐Ru with distinct surface structures, thermal stabilities, and catalytic behaviors. Moreover, the hcp‐Ru can further serve as an epitaxial template to direct Pd and Rh nanocrystals into the metastable hcp ...

Viscoelastic web curl due to storage in wound rolls [PDF]
While bending strains result from any web being wound at a radius of curvature into a roll, these bending strains are largest for the thicker homogeneous webs and laminates.

Can Elastomers Combine Stiffness, Toughness and Fatigue Resistance?
This review studies how the molecular and macroscopic architecture of elastomers influence their mechanical properties including: stiffness, stretchability, toughness, fatigue resistance, and damping behavior. By linking the structure to performance, it proposes design principles for advanced elastomeric systems that combine mechanical properties ...

What we know that just isn't so [PDF]
This paper proposes a metric for the permeation of the science of web handling into industry. The variable of interest is misunderstandings, myths if you will, that are common in plants.
