Movie Data Visualization Based on WebGL
2021 21st ACIS International Winter Conference on Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Networking and Parallel/Distributed Computing (SNPD-Winter), 2021Web 3D was initially realized by installing plug-ins on the browser, and WebGL can render interactive 3D graphics on web pages without using plug-ins. Three.js is the open-source framework of WebGL, a small amount of JavaScript code can create complex 3D scenes.

WebGLU development library for WebGL
ACM SIGGRAPH 2010 Posters, 2010For more than a decade, rich 3D content on the web has only been available via external, often proprietary, browser plugins. However, a new standard has emerged to change this. WebGL, currently under development by the Khronos Group, is a standard specification for javascript bindings to OpenGL [Khronos 2009].

In the previous chapter we learned that WebGL is a low-level 2D and 3D graphics API implementing the Kronos Group specification for OpenGL ES in the web browser. The “ES” in OpenGL ES abbreviates the term “embedded systems.” By design, WebGL is optimized for devices such as phones and mobile headsets.

Realistic visual speech synthesis in WebGL
Proceedings of the 18th International Conference on 3D Web Technology, 2013This paper presents the work that has been done to develop a web application that shows the face of a virtual character pronouncing the sentences the user sets. The level of realism was high and the performance was fast enough. The application makes use of WebGL, speech processing, text to speech and co-articulation technologies to obtain the virtual ...

The LiverAnatomyExplorer: A WebGL-Based Surgical Teaching Tool
IEEE Computer Graphics and Applications, 2013The LiverAnatomyExplorer is a real-time surgical teaching tool based on state-of-the-art Web technologies such as SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics), X3D (Extensible3D), and WebGL (Web Graphics Library). Unlike other medical e-learning systems, the LiverAnatomyExplorer combines traditional clinical 2D imagery with interactive Web-based 3D models derived ...

CycleBlob: A WebGL Lightcycle Game
2012I started learning JavaScript and WebGL for fun in my free time on evenings and weekends. For most of my career, I’ve programmed large enterprise applications in C++ and, on occasion, I’ve written some data visualizations using desktop OpenGL. 3D content on the web is something that I’ve been waiting for a while to happen, so when the news of the ...

Web-based games and simulations are becoming popular because they are easily accessible and are mostly hardware independent. This gives scope for improvements for the field of game development from a Web perspective. The Game Engine of this paper is proposed and developed to meet the increasing needs of a more straightforward way to develop Web-based ...
