Comparative Single‐Cell Transcriptomic Landscape Reveals the Regulatory Mechanisms of Lactation during Selective Breeding in Asian Water Buffalo

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, a comprehensive single‐cell transcriptome atlas of river and swamp buffalo, encompassing 12 tissues and 397,011 cells, is constructed. Differential expression analyses identify metabolic and secretory tissues and cell types that mediate the divergence of milk production.

Softening of Vibrational Modes and Anharmonicity Induced Thermal Conductivity Reduction in a‐Si:H at High Temperatures

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
This study developed a neuroevolution machine learning potential of both a‐Si:H and a‐Si systems, and revealed that the softening of vibrational modes and enhanced anharmonicity contribute to the reduction in thermal conductivity with increasing temperature and hydrogen concentration.

Characterization and Reuse of Lithium‐ion Battery Cathode Material Recovered Through a Bacterial Process

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
A sustainable bacteria‐based lithium‐ion battery cathode recycling method is optimized using engineering biology. The resulting biomineralized manganese carbonate species is found to be easily converted into an electrode material, via simple calcination.

How did consumers change their grocery spending in response to changes in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefit generosity?

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
Abstract In this paper, we examine the impact of reducing Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits on grocery purchases using data from Circana. We use an imputed difference‐in‐difference model to exploit state‐level variation in decisions to remove pandemic‐era SNAP emergency allotments to estimate the impact of such policies. We find
